Meghan Trainor shares update on her dad's health after he was hit by car last month

Meghan Trainor is sharing an update on her dad's health after he survived a car accident last month.

While speaking to Entertainment Tonight at Sunday’s Christian Cowan x Powerpuff Girls runway show, the singer, 26, said he was doing "great" but also felt understandably "miserable."

"He’s finally out of the hospital and he’s home and he has to wear his neck brace and back brace all the time except for when he’s sitting and sleeping,” she said. “He’s pretty miserable in a ‘I’m over this’ kind of way.”

She continued, “Today he was like, ‘I feel like I got hit by a car,’ and we’re like, ‘You did dad! You’re going to need to finally stop moving and relax' … He’s an older dad, but he’s like, ‘I’m gonna fix the house,’ and we’re like, ‘What?' "

In February, Trainor's representative Luke Burland confirmed to USA TODAY that her father was "in stable condition" after getting hit by a car.

Trainor also shared a black-and-white throwback photo with Gary Trainor, letting fans know she's "with my dad now." A photo on her Instagram story at the time appeared to show Meghan holding her father's hand from a hospital bed.

"Thank you for all your sweet messages," she wrote in an Instagram post. "It was all very scary but he is the strongest man I know."

Entertainment Tonight and TMZ reported that Gary was hit by a car in Los Angeles while crossing the street.

Fellow stars and fans alike flooded Trainor's post with well-wishes. "Yes he is!!!!" wrote music producer Ester Dean. Nicki Minaj, Trainor's "Nice to Meet Ya" collaborator, commented with a prayer emoji and a heart.

"sending you all my prayers!!!!!" wrote Jennifer Love Hewitt.

"I’m so glad he’s okay ??, we’re always here for you in all hard times, that’s why us megatronz are for, supporting you and your family. We love you so much," wrote fan account @meghan.all.the.way.
