Liu is set to star as Alexander Hale, an intelligence analyst who “realizes his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears,” per the official synopsis. “Caught between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out who’s responsible and prove where his allegiance lies.”
James Wan (The Conjuring, Aquaman) is on board as an executive producer of the show, which was ordered to series at Peacock in February, with Thomas Brandon (Legacies) serving as writer and creator.
Barrera co-starred as sister Lyn in the Starz drama Vida before breaking out on the big screen in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical In the Heights and then 2022’s Scream, the fifth film in the horror franchise, followed by Scream VI in 2023. Her other TV credits include Club de Cuervos and Keep Breathing.
