Michelle Obama put a pause on her power suiting style and opted for her take on casual dressing for a recent campaign event for Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday ahead of the presidential election. The former First Lady of the United States spoke to perspective voters in College Park, Ga., for a “When We All Vote” event.

For the occasion, Obama favored an elevated take on casual attire, wearing a cream-colored crocheted R13 sleeveless cable-knit vest with frayed elements at the neckline, sleeves and hemline. She styled the look with wide-leg jeans per the brand’s description, which said the vest evokes “grunge and rock ‘n’ roll with its heavy distressing. It’s cable-knitted from cotton in ‘boyfriend’ proportions that look great with wide jeans or a ’90s kilt.”
The former FLOTUS accessorized her look with a bevy of jewelry pieces, including stacked bracelets on both wrists, rings and a pair of statement earrings. The gold earrings were a pair of puffy cushion earrings in yellow gold by Jennifer Fisher.
Obama pulled her hair up into a high ponytail but allowed a few wisps of hair to frame her face. While the look was more pared-back than previous campaign event attire, it still commanded attention with its contrasting shades and warmly toned jewelry pieces.
The stars were out for the event, including Ciara, Kelly Rowland and more.
Prior to the “When We All Vote” rally in Georgia, Obama joined Vice President Harris on Saturday at the Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign rally in Kalamazoo, Mich. Obama made a powerful statement with her Theory suit.
Obama wore a tortoiseshell-printed pantsuit over a black silk top. Her hair was pulled into a tight chignon. At the campaign rally, Obama provided an impassioned speech to voters, highlighting women’s reproductive health among other issues.
Obama has been styling commanding attire throughout the 2024 presidential campaign while advocating for Vice President Harris. At the Democratic National Convention in August, Obama wore a look by Monse with a notable crisscross element on the sleeveless top.
