Mila Kunis Is Ready To Make This Career Move After Laying Low Amid Danny Masterson Controversy

In 2011, Mila Kunis’ career was riding high from the success of Black Swan, which took her and her castmates to the Oscars that year, but she hasn’t reached those same heights in recent years. The 40-year-old actress took some time off to raise her two children, daughter Wyatt, 9, and son Dimitri, 7, with Ashton Kutcher, but it sounds like she’s ready to get back into the Hollywood game.

Kunis had the opportunity to reprise her role as Jackie on the second season of That ‘90s Show this year, but she declined. With a “very cushy Family Guy voice-acting gig to keep one toe in the comedy world,” she’s reportedly ready to “get back to making interesting, important movies,” according to an In Touch source. “It’s been 15 years since her edgy role in Black Swan broke through and she wants to get back to that kind of serious work,” they added.

This comeback would be a solo venture for her after diving into Kutcher’s tech entrepreneurial world over the last few years. That means that her husband may have to take over the primary parenting role if the right project comes her way. “She has to do this herself and she has to challenge herself like never before,” the insider divulged. “It’s going to be a re-invention, it’s going to take patience, but this is her choice and Ashton just has to live with it, even if it means Mila has to go to Europe or another far-flung location.”

Kunis and Kutcher kept a relatively low-profile last fall after the judge in the Danny Masterson sexual assault case unsealed the supportive letters they wrote in hopes of getting him a more lenient sentence. Their That ’70s Show co-star got 30 years, but the couple was dragged on social media for their lack of support for the victims. Kunis discussed “Danny’s role as a husband and father to his daughter” which she describes as “nothing short of extraordinary,” in her letter to the court. “He demonstrates grace and empathy in every situation, be it within the entertainment industry or in our personal lives. “His steady support and understanding presence make him a reliable source of guidance and comfort for all of us.”

The couple made an awkward video apology after the backlash, but the damage was done. That’s why the timing of Kunis’ Hollywood comeback is curious — are fans ready to see her back in the public eye? While that question remains unanswered, the Kunis insider shares that she’s “on the hunt for material that really speaks to her soul,” so her return to the entertainment industry is imminent.
