Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth settle divorce amid Cody Simpson drama
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have finalized their divorce. According to TMZ, the estranged couple — whose one-year wedding anniversary would have been Monday — have reached a settlement and will file papers Tuesday.
A source tells Entertainment Tonight that "the couple had a prenup so dividing property wasn’t an issue; Miley will keep the animals in the divorce."
Hemsworth, 29, and Cyrus, 27 — who have been on-again, off-again since 2009 — announced their separation in August. Their split was anything but amicable in the press. The Hunger Games actor filed for divorce first citing "irreconcilable differences" as Cyrus moved on with The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter. Shortly after that rebound romance ended, Cyrus started dating Cody Simpson.
Breakup rumors have plagued Simpson and Cyrus in recent weeks as he's been spotted out with other women. Last weekend, the 22-year-old Aussie singer was pictured with Playboy magazine's December 2019 Playmate, Jordy Murray. Days later, Page Six claimed Simpson was spotted kissing another girl while out at a bar in New York City. Simpson, who won Australia's The Masked Singer earlier this year, seemingly addressed the cheating speculation in a series of tweets.
"If only we gave more thought to how we may possibly save our earth and less to the trivialities of celebrity culture," he wrote, adding, "Gossip outlets are the plague of journalism."
We are all gossiping our way into ignorance, attempting to relieve ourselves of the concern that we are really swirling into oblivion on a burning planet. If only we gave more thought to how we may possibly save our earth and less to the trivialities of celebrity culture.

Gossip outlets are the plague of journalism. If more people concerned themselves with literature and not the poison of the mind that is most news columns we’d maybe be in a better place as a society.

Simpson's agent flat out denied the singer cheated, telling E! News "there is absolutely no truth to this story." They added, "Cody went out with a friend and all the rest is fabricated. Period."
Cyrus has stayed quiet amid the drama; however, she posted about self-love during the holidays.
"I think it is super important for everyone to truly enjoy themselves this holiday season!" she wrote on her Instagram Story. "Take time off, relax, enjoy warm meals, indulge in the sweets we usually try to stay away from but alsooooooo KEEP MOVING! Even if it’s for 15-20 minutes a day! Something is better than nothing! I’ve been trying to be super gentle on myself and even if it’s just a walk with my mom or dogs in the morning! Movement is an important ingredient to self love/care!"
The "Malibu" singer is spending Christmas back home in Tennessee with her loved ones. She shared a photo of her "dysfunctional family" on social media.
There haven’t been any sightings of Simpson in Nashville, though.
