The “Moana 2” Soundtrack Is Already Out: We Think This Dwayne Johnson Song Will Be Your Kids' New Favorite!
Disney's 'Moana 2' is in theaters Wednesday, Nov. 27, and the official soundtrack is available now
Dwayne Johnson just gave Disney fans a new classic to jam to.
On Friday, Nov. 22, Disney released a lyric video for Johnson's new song "Can I Get a Chee Hoo?" from the soon-to-hit-theaters Moana 2, as part of its soundtrack that is now available in full.
Performed by Johnson, 52, reprising his voice role as the lovable demigod Maui, the song features lyrics like, "You've got greatness inside, and you just gotta believe / You think you don't have the tricks, but they're right up your sleeve."
"These waters are threatening, but you bring the reckoning / So drop all the fear and thе questioning / I need a, can I get a CHEE HOO?!" the catchy song continues.
The track comes after the wild success of Johnson's "You're Welcome" from the original film, which was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The song introduced Johnson's character Maui to audiences and quickly became a fan favorite.

Johnson previously teased "Can I Get a Chee Hoo?" on Instagram, sharing a promo clip from the animated sequel that played over portions of the track.
"When life gets tough — if you wanna get through it, you just gotta CHEE HOOO it," the actor wrote in the caption of his post, shared Tuesday, Nov. 19.
"Chee hoo" is a term often used by his character Maui in an expression of great excitement, like in the first film as he jumps into the lair of the villainous crab Tamatoa (voiced by Jemaine Clement).

"Thank you all so much for the anticipation and excitement for our #Moana2," Johnson added in his Tuesday post. "Our epic journey begins in theaters on THANKSGIVING DAY. And special shout to the little forces known as the Moana-be’s ~ Maui."
Aside from "Can I Get a Chee Hoo?", the newly released Moana 2 soundtrack includes more songs written by Barlow & Bear, like 'We're Back," "Beyond," "Finding the Way" and "Get Lost," many featuring the vocals of Auli'i Cravalho, who returns to voice the titular Motunui princess.

Back in September, the actress told Entertainment Weekly in a cover story about the film that it showcases "a new part of my voice" — and her character's, as well.
"I haven't explored this kind of depth with Moana before," said Cravalho, now 24, who had just turned 16 years old when the first movie premiered in November 2016.
And "this film," she said, "digs into these low notes in these times of indecision when we don't know what we are supposed to do next."
"There's a lot of deeper layers to these songs," Cravalho added.
Moana 2 is in theaters Nov. 27.
