Mom's First Mother's Day: John Legend Pens Sweet Tribute to Wife Chrissy Teigen and Daughter Luna

John Legend is paying tribute to his wife Chrissy Teigen‘s first weeks as a parent, in honor of Mother’s Day.

The 37-year-old singer outfitted their infant daughter Luna Simone, who they welcomed on April 14, in an adorable onesie, adorned with a sweet, handwritten message (“Happy 1st Mother’s Day”) and a red heart.

“To my wonderful wife, @chrissyteigen,” Legend wrote. “Luna and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. If our daughter can be even half as awesome as you, I will be so happy and proud. Happy 1st Mother’s Day!”

Legend posted another photo of his wife with the little girl, the model bare-faced and snuggled up with their new addition in a gray blanket.

“Happy Mother’s Day,” he wrote.

Last month, producer Mike Jackson, who works with Legend on the Underground series, told Entertainment Tonight that the couple are fully embracing parenthood.

“They’re happy. They’re elated,” Jackson said of the couple. “It’s a long time coming. They went through a lot to have this child. They’re excited — we’re all really blessed that she’s a part of all of our lives.”
