Moneybagg Yo and GloRilla team up for new single, 'On Wat U On'
Memphis' reigning hip-hop king and queen have joined forces for a new single.
Chart-topping rapper Moneybagg Yo and recently minted Grammy nominee GloRilla have just released a new collaboration titled “On Wat U On,” via Yo Gotti's CMG label, in partnership with N-Less and Interscope Records. A video for the track, starring Glo and ‘Bagg — which pays homage to the 2001 John Singleton directed film "Baby Boy" — has also just been released.
According to a news release from CMG announcing the project, the track "finds the collaborators trading bars, cleverly [breaking] down a lover’s quarrel... over a classic, bass-heavy beat and propulsive piano arrangement."
The track, officially credited to Moneybagg Yo, follows his December single, “Quickie,” which was a top 50 hit on the R&B charts. The songs are teasing a new full-length from Moneybagg, reportedly expected in the early spring. The album will be a followup to his breakthrough 2021 LP, “A Gangsta’s Pain,” which hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

Over the last half decade, Moneybagg has been building his brand with LPs like “43va Heartless” and “Time Served,” with the latter album going gold. “A Gangsta’s Pain” took him to new levels, and he followed up with a hometown shoutout to Grizzlies star Ja Morant on the single “Rookie of the Year.”
More recently, Moneybagg appeared on the CMG label compilation "Gangsta Art." His contribution to the disc, "Big League," (which also features Yo Gotti, Mozzy and Lil Poppa) was used as the official song of the 2022 NBA Finals.
Meantime, GloRilla has become the leading female figure in Memphis' current hip-hop renaissance. Her viral hits “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Blessed” launched her into national consciousness in early 2022. After signing with Gotti's CMG label, GloRilla scored a Top 10 Billboard record with “Tomorrow 2,” a remix collaboration with hip-hop queen Cardi B. In addition to that track, she’s also worked with fellow Memphian Duke Deuce and on various projects with producer HitKidd.
Last September, GloRilla earned a surprise win at the BET Hip Hop Awards, taking home the Best Breakthrough Artist award. And in November she was nominated, along with HitKidd, for a Grammy for the year’s Best Rap Performance. GloRilla and HitKidd will face off against a strong field that includes Kendrick Lamar, Doja Cat and DJ Khaled, among others. The Grammys will be handed out Feb. 5 in Los Angeles.
