MTV VMAs Devote Camera Feed Exclusively to Taylor Swift
A camera operator was tasked with filming Taylor Swift for the entire duration of the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
Swift, who sat in the front row beside her publicist Tree Paine and Ice Spice for much of the event, was seen by Variety on Tuesday night continuously filmed by a cameraman. No other artist was being filmed in the same manner.

Swift lead this year’s VMAs nominations with eight nods, including video of the year and artist of the year. She has already scored two of the VMAs’ signature Moonman statues for best pop and song of the year.
The singer-songwriter accepted the first VMA of the evening for best pop music video from NSYNC, who reunited on stage at the ceremony at New Jersey’s Prudential Center.
“I’m not doing well pivoting from this to this [from being an NSYNC fan to accepting an award],” Swift said. “Like, I had your [NSYNC] dolls!”
Swift then continued the group’s ongoing reunion teasers by saying, “Are you guys gonna do something? I need to know what it is!”
Swift made history at this year’s VMAs after taking home the trophy for “Anti-Hero,” which she directed herself. According to MTV, the singer and songwriter has the second most overall wins after receiving nine Moonmen bringing her total to 23. Swift is now second only to Beyoncé, who has 26 in her collection.
