Much anticipated Italian restaurant with pasta made in sight opens in West Palm Beach

Ok, so originally they had planned to open a year ago, but whatever, they're here now, open and ready to serve up some seriously fresh, delicious pasta. Yes, DalMoros Fresh Pasta To Go has finally opened on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach — its second restaurant in Palm Beach County.

Located in the 400 block of the city's signature street, the restaurant officially opened its doors on March 5 with a fresh pasta cutting (like a ribbon cutting, but with pasta) and giveaways to their first 100 customers.

Owner David Caruso said the event was attended by several members of the city's Downtown Development Authority.

Though Caruso lamented having to deal with some construction delays, he's excited to finally be open in West Palm Beach and "happy to move past that and look forward."

Four types of fresh pasta is the key at DalMoros restaurant

This fast-casual eatery features four types of pasta including fusilli, rigatoni, fettuccine and bigoli. They are each made fresh several times a day with the pasta machines in sight so customers can see the magic.

The flour DalMoros uses is the same as what is used throughout Italy and much of Europe. Because of the flour's exceptional quality it doesn't require any eggs, making it vegan friendly.

In addition to the four pasta varieties, there are also at least nine varieties of sauce (plus one seasonal sauce that changes each month) which are made in house each day. Among the sauces DalMoros offers, a bolognese (fresh tomato sauce, ground beef, carrots, celery, onions), amatriciana (fresh tomato sauce, smoked pancetta, onion, black pepper), cacio e pepe (white cream sauce, pecorino cheese, black pepper) and mamma rosa (fresh tomato sauce, eggplant, ricotta cheese, black pepper, garlic).

Several of the sauces including the napoletana, aglio, olio & peperoncino and the "like butter" are vegan friendly.

The newest DalMoros Fresh Pasta To Go opened March 5 on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach. Their location on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach opened last September.

Caruso, who owns DalMoros franchises in the Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg area and Sarasota, as well as the Delray Beach location which opened last September, said they chose to expand into South Florida because people here are more food-centric and want quality. Downtown West Palm Beach and Delray Beach were specifically selected to capitalize on the foot traffic along both Clematis Street and Atlantic Avenue.

Though the restaurant's current hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, Caruso said they plan to expand their night hours on select days eventually. "We look to be open later in the future to capture that 'late-night crowd,'" he said. DalMoros is just the right evening meal in a convenient container, he said. "It's quick, tasty and hand held... perfect after a night out."

This restaurant truly offers the "real taste of Italy." The original DalMoros restaurant actually started out 12 years ago as a single outlet in Venice, Italy. It is named for, and still run by, Gabreile Dal Moro.

Continue their growth, Caruso said they have plans to open another South Florida location, this time in Hollywood, in April with more restaurants to follow in Orlando and at Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston later this year.
