Naomi Osaka Hints at Split from Cordae in Cryptic Social Media Posts and Deletes Photos with Rapper
The former World No. 1 tennis player and the rapper began dating in 2019, and welcomed their daughter Shai in July
Have Naomi Osaka and Cordae called it quits?
The 26-year-old tennis star posted cryptic messages on X, formerly known as Twitter, Tuesday and scrubbed her Instagram of any mention of the rapper, sparking speculation that she's ended her relationship with Cordae after four years together.
Osaka, who does not currently follow the "Doomsday" rapper on Instagram, shared two posts on X that seemed to hint at trouble in paradise.
"The art of loving yourself," Osaka wrote in a post on X on Sept. 27. And then on Tuesday, one day after she celebrated her birthday, the former World No. 1 said, "I just want someone that will watch the sunset with me," in another post.
Cordae was also noticeably absent from photos Osaka shared on her birthday.
"Big Libra vibes," she wrote in the caption of a series of solo shots of the tennis star as she celebrated another trip around the sun.
I just want someone that will watch the sunset with me.

The mysterious messages on Osaka's social media come amid the observation that she wiped all mention of the rapper from Instagram.
PEOPLE has reached out to representatives for Osaka and Cordae.
Osaka and Cordae welcomed their first child, daughter Shai, in July.
At the US Open in September 2023, Osaka explained to ESPN why the couple chose the name Shai.
"Shai means God's gift. I wanted her to feel like she was a gift to me and her dad," she told the media outlet.

In January, Osaka had revealed that she was pregnant via Instagram.
"Can't wait to get back on the court but here's a little life update for 2023," Osaka wrote in a post announcing her pregnancy.
She continued, "The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that it's the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun. These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I've dedicated my life to."
"I realize that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I'm looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mom,' haha," Osaka continued.
Osaka also vowed to get back to tennis after welcoming her new arrival, writing, "2023 will be a year that'll be full of lessons for me and I hope I'll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I'll be at Aus 2024. Love you all infinitely."
As a "sidenote," the tennis pro added, "I don't think there's a perfectly correct path to take in life, but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions, you'll find your way eventually."

During her pregnancy, Osaka said that she wanted to be the best version of herself for her daughter. "I would say for me, I just want to be the best version of myself. Obviously, I've never been a mother before so I'm taking it day-by-day and just trying to be someone that my son or daughter will be proud of," she said.
In her return to the court post-pregnancy, Osaka is set to compete in the 2024 Australian Open, which she won in 2019 and 2021, when the tournament kicks off in January.
