Naturally, Beyoncé Does the Headscarf Trend Better Than Everyone

Happy birthday, Beyoncé! The Virgo queen celebrated her 43rd birthday on September 4, AKA B-Day, and she did so in her favorite hair accessory of the season: the scarf.

The Cowboy Carter musician shared a handful of pics from her birthday vacation and thanked fans for their wishes, saying she's “so grateful for another year.” In one photo set, Bey was sporting the trending scarf wrapped around her head and tied underneath her chin, movie star-style. Her hair was loose and pushed back over her shoulders, with the patterned black, white, and blue scarf placed an inch or so from her forehead so a bit of her hair peeked out at the top. If you zoom in, you can see a handful of teeny braids scattered throughout her hair.

She styled the scarf with a printed Pucci minidress and green mesh elbow-length gloves, under which she wore a shiny, champagne-colored chrome birthday manicure. Her bright, almost neon red lip was the final festive finishing touch, and her pedicure was the same vibrant scarlet shade. (This is Beyoncé we're talking about, and she leaves no detail unnoticed! Virgo energy at its best.)

The scarf has been a go-to for Bey this summer. She wore a white silk bandana and matching dress and sunglasses for a day in the Hamptons earlier this year, with her curls peeking out from under the accessory. The humble silk or cotton scarf has really had a moment in the celeb crowd as a whole in 2024, with stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Ayo Edebiri wearing them on the red carpet and onscreen. Megan Rapinoe wore one at the Olympics, Hailey Bieber wrapped a leopard print scarf over a baseball cap, and Billie Eilish tied on a Gucci kerchief for an event in late 2023. You don't have to be celebrating your birthday at a tropical resort to try out the scarf trend—just head to thrift store or borrow one from your grandma's closet and channel Bey this weekend!
