Naveen Andrews Promises ‘A Satisfying Ending’ to ‘Sense8’
“Sense8” fans were furious when Netflix canceled the original series — but star Naveen Andrews said the same folks “should be happy” with the subsequently ordered two-hour wrap-up.
“I think in terms of the push we put into it, they should be happy with [the special],” the “Lost” alum said Saturday at the Television Critics Association press tour. “There is a satisfying ending to it.”

“The outpouring of love and grief that came in the wake of the news that ‘Sense8’ would not be continuing was so intense that I often found myself unable to open my own email,” co-creator Lana Wachowski wrote on Twitter when Netflix relented to the pressure. “Improbably, unforeseeably [sic], your love has brought ‘Sense8’ back to life.”
After initially scrapping the series for reasons of its “economics,” even Netflix admitted the olive branch was a viewer-based decision.
“After seeing that the cancellation was a total cluster, we decided to give Sense8 fans the ending they totally deserve,” a Netflix spokesperson told TheWrap back then.
“Sense8” endeared itself to audiences due to its strong LGBTQ+ characters and storylines that focused on relationships, including that of a trans woman.
