Naya Rivera's 'Glee' co-stars launch holiday drive in her honor: 'Keeping Naya's spirit alive'

The cast of "Glee" is keeping Naya Rivera's giving spirit alive this holiday season.
Rivera's co-stars, including Heather Morris, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, Dianna Agron and Chris Colfer, are hosting a GoFundMe fundraiser for Rivera's favorite charity, Alexandria House, in the actress' honor.
Rivera's friends and family would normally be looking forward to the star's annual Christmas party and toy drive, which she dubbed Snixxmas, to benefit children in need. However, this Christmas will mark the first without Rivera after the actress drowned in a California lake in July.
"As the holiday season approaches we can’t help but reflect on the year that’s passed," Kevin McHale said in a promotional video. Jenna Ushkowitz added, "And this year the thing we’re thinking about most is our incredible friend Naya and the wonderful memories she’s left us with."

Alexandria House is a charity Rivera held close to her heart.
"The connection I feel with (Alexandria House) and the people who reside and work there has been the biggest blessing and made such a huge positive impact on myself and my son," Rivera said in February, just five months before her death. "We truly have found a home away from home through the time we spend volunteering there."
Alexandria House, a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, is a "transitional residence that provides safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelter to permanent housing," Harry Shum, Jr. said.

The group is looking to raise $50,000 to donate in Rivera's name. As of Friday evening, they have raised over $43,000 so far.
Morris, whose "Glee" character Brittany Pierce had a relationship with Rivera's Santana Lopez, said Rivera "always inspired me because she never let a holiday season go by without giving back to those in need."
"We ask you all to join in our effort to bring a little Snixxmas cheer into the lives of those in need," Lynch said. Morrison added that the cast would also be "making a donation in Naya’s name to Alexandria house."
In a tragic series of events, Rivera disappeared from a boat she rented with her 4-year-old son, Josey, at Ventura County's Lake Piru on July 8. After a days-long search, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office announced on July 13 that a body found at the lake was Rivera.
