NBC To Stunt ‘Superstore’ During the Olympics, Launch Reality Series Off Games
Four years ago, NBC previewed new comedies Go On and Animal Practice during the London Summer Olympics. This year, the network is taking its only returning comedy series, Superstore, which will produce an original episode to air following one night of coverage from the games in Rio.
“We think that can give this show an enormous amount of attention,” NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt said during the network’s upfront call.
Coming directly off the games will be new reality series Better Late Than Never, originally picked up eight to nine months ago. The series, based on a South Korean format, stars Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw and George Foreman on a bucket-list trip to Asia.
