Nelly Released Without Charges After Arrest on Rape Claim
Rapper Nelly was booked and released without charges Saturday after he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree rape, his lawyer told USA Today.
“To be absolutely clear. I have not been charged with a crime therefore no bail was required,” Nelly tweeted. “I was released, pending further investigation.”
Nelly did not attend his scheduled concert on Saturday night, where he was to perform as part of his tour with Florida Georgia Line.

The “Hot in Herre” rapper, whose birth name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., was arrested outside of Seattle on Saturday morning after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her on his tour bus.
Nelly’s attorney said in a statement issued to TheWrap yesterday that the music star “is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation.”
