Nigel Sylvester Debuted Brand New ‘Bike Air’ Air Jordans, but Will They Be Released?

More from Footwear News

Nigel Sylvester already has one of the year’s most talked-about sneaker collaborations, and the BMX pro was just spotted over the weekend in a new exclusive colorway of the shoes.

Sylvester made an appearance Saturday at the Sneaker Con convention in NYC where he mingled with fans and fellow sneaker personalities including Jae Tips, Stephon Marbury and Mayor. Sylvester was photographed autographing his Jordan collaborations for fans and even threw free shoes to a large crowd of fans, but it was the unreleased sneakers he wore on foot that had people talking the most.

For the event, Sylvester laced up a pair of unreleased “Bike Air” Air Jordan 4 RMs in black and gray with University Blue branding on the heel and the toe’s mini Swoosh. The pair is similar to the “Driveway Gray” colorway of the sneaker, which was released in August, but features softer gray hues and adds a cream rubber portion to the front of the midsole.

Unfortunately, fans who are interested in purchasing this pair of Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RMs are out of luck — for now. “These didn’t come out, they might not ever,” Sylvester said in an Instagram clip shared by Sneaker Con.

When asked if the style was a friends-and-family exclusive, Sylvester revealed it was even rarer and that only one pair had been made personally for him. While it’s currently a one-of-one creation for Sylvester, that doesn’t completely rule out a public release. Given the popularity of the first two “Bike Air” Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RMs, it would be surprising if Jordan Brand doesn’t revisit it in some form during the model’s life cycle.

However, there will be a chance for fans to pick up a similar look. A non-collaboration colorway of the Air Jordan 4 RM in “Iron Gray” (above) features similar details and is expected to arrive in stores this holiday season for a retail price of $150. In addition to that style, there are several other Air Jordan 4 RMs on the way including the popular “Black Cat” colorway.
