Not so secret 'Garden': HSU senior art students exhibit together
Five Hardin-Simmons seniors are exhibiting final projects and will talk about their work Friday.
The art is installed at Ira M. Taylor Gallery on campus.
The five - art majors Victoria Angelo, Randie Dennison, Anna Ganus, Allison Hampton and Jennifer Snapp - have combined for a show titled "Garden of Arts." A garden theme unites the work but each student has taken a different focus.
Dennison, for example, focused on images of The Ice House, a downtown Abilene nightspot that offers live music, a selection of Texas beers and house-made drinks, such as the Mad Dog Margarita.
Hampton's work is more clinical, or, actually, Clinique. She has organized a collection of products by the manufacturer of skincare, cosmetics, toiletries and fragrances.
Snapp, on the opposite side of the space, has filled a wall with photography - outdoor images.
Together, the exhibit offers photography, graphic design, painting and installation art.
The reception, open to the public, is from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday.
The artist talks will be broadcast via Instagram live on hsutx.art.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. The gallery is located in Frost Center for the Visual Arts.
