Who Are the 911: Lone Star Season 5 New Cast Members?
Parker Young as Campbell
Parker Young, who is best known for his work on shows like Enlisted and Suburgatory, stars in a recurringrole as Campbell, a Texas Ranger assigned to work alongside Carlos Reyes in Season 5. “When these two guys team up, there’s a very special chemistry,” showrunner Rashad Raisani told TVLine. “They complement each other on cases and they’re going to become great friends. They’re going to go to some very interesting places as a partnership.”
Raisani added that Carlos and Campbell also butt heads in a “brotherly” way. “They are great together, and the stories they tell are some of the most explosive and dynamic that we’ve done,” Raisani continues. Heck, he even sees the potential for a spinoff with these two: “I have been desperately pushing for that,” he said. “I think that this season is going to be a proof of concept.”
Jackson Pace as Wyatt Harris
Though not a new cast member, Jackson Pace, who made his debut as Judd Ryder’s son Wyatt Harris in a recurring role in Season 3, was promoted to a main cast member in Season 5. Wyatt took over the role of 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s main 9-1-1 operator following news that original Sierra McClain would not be returning as Grace Ryder, Judd’s wife.
A show called 9-1-1: Lone Star cannot actually exist without a 9-1-1 operator. In her absence, it was understood that someone would have to fill that position. The trailer Season 5 confirmed that Wyatt, Judd’s son, take over the dispatcher role Grace had held since the pilot of the show.
McClain departed the show over a contract dispute, but there was nothing in the Season 4 finale to set up her departure. Last we saw Grace she and Judd seemed pretty happy at the wedding of Carlos and TK. During the finale, Judd decides to retire to become Wyatt’s full-time caregiver, but that still doesn’t explain why Grace wouldn’t be around. The premiere of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 that Grace left Austin, Texas—and 9-1-1: Lone Star—to embark as some sort of religious mission.

Wyatt, who is taking her place as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, was originally on track to join his father, Judd, in the field. However, he was hit by a car while riding his bike, which left him partially paralyzed and put an end to his dream of becoming a firefighter. Near the end of Season 4, we saw Wyatt undergo spinal surgery after his biking accident. Season 5 finds him doing much better, and ready to do his part – even if not exactly on the field, as he once wished to be. But as we’ve seen from Maddie, Josh, and even Eddie at some point on the original 9-1-1, you can indeed be a hero from dispatch.
