Olive Garden customer stunned by suspicious breadstick — even the restaurant was ‘concerned’
This Olive Garden guest had unlimited suspicions.
A customer recently worried Olive Gardens’s corporate team when they shared what they discovered on their breadstick.
TikTokker @fartbubble69420 posted a video showing a half-eaten breadstick with “O K6” printed on it.
“Guys why is there letters on my olive garden breadstick,” the diner captioned the video.
The disturbing video quickly went viral amassing over 3.4 million views, and soon eliciting a response from the official Olive Garden TikTok account.
“We are concerned to see this,” Olive Garden responded.
They then asked the person to email their social media account with their name and the location where they were served the marked breadstick.
The TikTokker updated viewers with a second video showing a screenshot of an email from Olive Garden providing them with a $100 gift card to the restaurant.
Although there was never an official explanation as to what happened, a few people responded in the comments claiming to know what went wrong.
The TikTokker and Olive Garden did not immediately respond to The Post’s request to comment.
Several people claiming to be current or former employees of the chain restaurant said that the print was likely transferred from the plastic bag the popular appetizers are stored in when they are delivered and sit in the freezer.
This comes just after Olive Garden’s parent company Darden Restaurants began to see its stock rebound from a weak summer, likely due to an inflation-inspired price hike.
“We’re clearly seeing consumer behavior shifts,” Darden CEO Rick Cardenas said at the time. “The lower-income consumer does appear to be pulling back.”
The Italian chain specifically became too expensive for those earning less than $75,000.
However, Olive Garden is still enticing diners with its discount deals, including the “Never Ending Pasta Bowl” and “Never Ending First Course” serving endless soup, salad and breadsticks — let’s just hope they’re not numbered.
