‘Olympus Has Fallen’ Sequel Loses Director

Fredrik Bond has stepped away from directing “Olympus Has Fallen” sequel over creative differences, sources confirm.
The Millenium Films actioner, titled “London Has Fallen,” was scheduled to begin shooting next month in England.
Bond previously directed Shia LaBeouf’s “Charlie Countryman” and had just come on to the project in August.
Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman are set to return with Christian Gudegast, Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt penning the script.
Focus has dated the action-thriller for an Oct. 2, 2015 release.
The story follows the three main characters to London as they attend the funeral of the British prime minister. The trio is suddenly caught in the middle of plot to kill all the world leaders.
Butler is producing with Alan Siegel, Mark Gill and Matt O’Toole.
“Olympus Has Fallen” performed respectably last year with $161 million in worldwide grosses.
