One Pal Is Trying to Get Chris Martin & Dakota Johnson ‘Married ASAP,’ per Insiders
As many are rejoicing that Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin’s relationship is still on solid ground, no one is more pleased than Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. Insiders even allege that no one is more excited than Paltrow, and she’s reportedly so excited, that she’s the one trying so hard to get them down the aisle.
Insiders recently told Heat World UK that Paltrow seriously wants the two down the aisle, and soon.

“Things have been up and down between Chris and Dakota. They’re trying to work things out on their own, but Gwyneth is determined for them to get married ASAP,” she said. “On one hand, it’s sweet, but it comes across as very controlling because it’s like she wants to have a say in who Chris is seeing. The last thing he and Dakota need is to have Gwyneth sticking her nose in.”
They added, “Gwyneth loves Dakota and knows she’s the right partner for Chris. But a lot of people wonder if there is also an element of her not relishing the idea of Chris being single again, and bringing God knows who around their children.”
Now, this isn’t too shocking when you remember how close she is to both of them, and insiders/ sources have said this sentiment time and time again. Johnson and Martin have been together for nearly a decade, and have been engaged for quite some time. It’s unclear if they will walk down the aisle, or keep their relationship a la Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell (engaged for 40+ years and madly in love).
For those who don’t know, the lovebirds started dating in 2017 after being set up by mutual friends. They didn’t confirm their relationship until a year later, and they moved in together in 2021. Earlier in 2024, it was rumored they were engaged, and while neither have publicly commented on it, many insiders claim that to be the case.
In a previous interview with Bustle, she gave rare details about their romance, talking about how much she adores seeing him perform. “I love watching him. I could watch him every day. I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like, I don’t know… I’m watching my most favorite being do his most favorite thing. When people are really good at things, it is [sexy.]”
