Oprah Winfrey Channels Business Glamour in Tuxedo Jacket and Sequined Skirt to Present Quincy Jones Tribute at Oscars 2025
Oprah Winfrey returned to the Oscars stage on Sunday. Accompanied by Whoopi Goldberg, the media mogul presented a tribute to the late Quincy Jones at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony, wearing a businesswear-inspired outfit with a glamorous twist.
Winfrey wore a black tuxedo-style jacket with satin lapels, a crisp white dress shirt with prominent white cuffs underneath, a black sequined necktie and a matching black sequined skirt. She accessorized with black shoes, Boucheron jewelry and an Apple watch. Her long, dark hair was styled in classic Hollywood curls.

Winfrey made her debut at the Oscars in 1986, wearing a white satin gown with gold beading. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of “The Color Purple.” Since then, she has attended the awards ceremony several times, wearing looks from Gianfranco Ferré, Vera Wang, Zac Posen and other designers.
At the 1995 Oscars, Winfrey presented the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to her friend, music producer and composer Jones. The musician died in November from pancreatic cancer.
Winfrey shared the presenter duties with Goldberg, who wore a liquid metal gown from Christian Siriano’s fall 2025 collection. Both introduced Queen Latifah onstage.
The 97th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, takes place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Conan O’Brien is hosting the ceremony, honoring the best in cinema from the past year. Notable presenters include Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Oprah Winfrey, Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone and more.
