‘Orange Is the New Black’ Renewed for Season 3
Netflix’s favorite prisoners will be back for a third season.
“Orange Is the New Black” star Laura Prepon posted on her Instagram page that the show is coming back for a season three. The photo included possible titles for the upcoming season.
“It’s official!! Season 3!! #oitnb#alexvause#backtothebighouse,” she wrote as the caption.
Netflix confirmed the news.
The greenlight comes as the streaming service continues to beef up its original series repertoire. Similarly, Netflix announced that “House of Cards” would be renewed for a third season before the second season came out.
The comedy-drama was created by Jenji Kohan and is based on the Piper Kerman memoir “Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison.” Netflix released a trailer for season two last month.
Season two will premiere on June 6 on Netflix.
