Orville Peck has teamed up with Kylie Minogue and Diplo for a new single: “Midnight Ride,” the latest release from his upcoming duet album, Stampede.
A dance track with a twang, “Midnight Ride” sees Peck and Minogue trade verses over a driving beat, complete with an impassioned spoken-word passage where the song’s two narrators recall falling in love and swearing that they’d “never be bored.” The single was premiered live by Peck and Minogue during her set at Outloud Festival at WeHo Pride, and marks Peck’s first release since Stampede Vol. 1, the “first collection” from Stampede.
“Doing this song with Kylie and Diplo was a dream come true,” Peck said in a statement. “Kylie was the first person I asked to be on Stampede because I knew exactly the kind of magic we could all make together.” Stream “Midnight Ride” below.
Peck has also announced his 6th Annual Rodeo festival, which will be hosted by John Waters in Nashville on August 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Peck will headline the festival, as will Tanya Tucker. Other performers include Medium Build, Mickey Guyton, Reyna Roberts, The Nude Party and more.
Tickets for the 6th Annual Rodeo will become available through a Live Nation pre-sale opening on Monday, June 10th at 12:00 p.m. CT (use code CHORD). Then, the general on-sale will open via Ticketmaster on Wednesday, June 12th at 10:00 a.m. CT.
