Oscars 2025: Best prediction scores by Gold Derby experts, editors, and users
Congratulations to Gold Derby user coldover for an excellent score of 86.96 percent in predicting the 2025 Oscars winners on Sunday. Our top scorer is actually tied with 89 other people with that accuracy but has the better point score of 73,055 by using the two Super Bets (500 points each) wisely.
An all-time record of 13,612 people worldwide predicted these Academy Awards champs with our top scorer correctly predicting 20 of 23 winners. The Hollywood ceremony was hosted by Conan O'Brien. The list of correct picks included Anora for Best Picture and Best Director, plus all four acting winners of Mikey Madison, Adrien Brody, Zoe Salda?a, and Kieran Culkin.

Shawn Edwards (WDAF) is next with 78.26 percent. Tied with 73.91 percent are Gregory Ellwood (The Playlist), Scott Mantz (KTLA), and Richmond. We then have an eight-way tie with 69.57 percent for Eng, Kate Erbland (Indiewire), Mark Johnson (The Contending), Tariq Khan (KSDK), Wilson Morales (BlackFilmandTV), Nikki Novak (Fandango), Joey Nolfi (Entertainment Weekly), and Anne Thompson (Indiewire).
Following them with 65.22 percent and a seven-way tie are Thelma Adams (freelance), Scott Feinberg (Hollywood Reporter), Pete Hammond (Deadline), Hanh Nguyen (Salon), Perri Nemiroff (Collider), Jenelle Riley (Variety), and Rosen. Up next with 60.87 percent are John Horn (NPR), Susan King (freelance), Michael Musto (Queerty), Claudia Puig (KPCC), and Keith Simanton (IMDb).
We then have an eight-way tie with 56.52 percent for Jacqueline Coley (Rotten Tomatoes), Clayton Davis (Variety), Erik Davis (Fandango), Marcus Jones (Indiewire), Andrea Mandell (People), Jazz Tangcay (Variety), Peter Travers (ABC), and Brian Truitt (USA Today).
