Oscars 2025: Watch The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Awards Countdown’ Preshow
Before Hollywood’s biggest night gets underway, The Hollywood Reporter is counting down to the 2025 Oscars with a streaming preshow that will deliver expert analysis, insider predictions and behind-the-scenes coverage viewers can’t see anywhere else.
THR‘s Awards Countdown: Oscars Edition at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood starts streaming at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET on Sunday before the ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, kicks off live on ABC at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET.

Emilia Pérez leads this year’s Oscar nominations with 13 nods, followed by The Brutalist and Wicked, which tied with 10 noms apiece. A Complete Unknown and Conclave both received eight mentions each.
All five of those films will compete for best picture with Anora, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys and The Substance. Among the studios, Netflix leads with 16 noms.
Throughout the 2025 ceremony, awards will be handed out in 23 categories, including best actress, best actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, best directing, best cinematography and more.
THR‘s Awards Countdown: Oscars Edition is hosted and produced by THR‘s Tiffany Taylor with reporting and analysis from executive awards editor Scott Feinberg, senior film editor Rebecca Keegan, film writer Mia Galuppo, artistic and fashion director Alison Edmond, contributor Brande Victorian and senior staff writer Chris Gardner, as well as Billboard‘s Tetris Kelly.
The special is executive produced by Jason Rovou and Lesley Corral and directed by Harry Buerkle. Segment producers include Neha Joy and Dominoe Ibarra. The program was shot by Buerkle, Jason Bass and Jean Martin. Bass, Buerkle, Paul Silva, Ben Myers and Paulo DeMello served as editors.
