The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored its newest class of winners during Hollywood’s biggest night on Sunday at the 2025 Oscars. Cameras captured the most dazzling moments during the Academy Awards as it aired on ABC and streamed on Hulu, but The Hollywood Reporter was inside the Dolby Theatre to catch all the moments that you may have missed during the 2025 Oscars.
Halle Berry and Adrien Brody Re-Create Their Infamous 2003 Oscars Kiss
Twenty-two years ago, Adrien Brody became the youngest best actor Oscar winner at 29 for his role of Wladyslaw Szpilman in The Pianist. However, his reaction to the win further cemented the moment in Oscars history when he embraced Halle Berry — who won the title of best actress the year prior in 2002 — and dipped her into a kiss. Now, at the 2025 Oscars, Brody and Berry re-created their infamous kiss behind-the-scenes on the carpet before the ceremony commenced. The Catwoman actress looked excited to see The Brutalist actor when she spotted him on the carpet, and the two shared a swift hug before launching into a smooch, which was met by a slew of cheers and applause.

Amy Poehler Jokes About Not Being Able to Find Adapters While Oscar-Branded Chargers Adorn the Dolby Theatre
When Amy Poehler presented the Oscars for best original and adapted screenplay (which later went to Anora and Conclave, respectively) she joked about the scarcity of charging adapters. The Dolby audience seemingly loved her joke, which may have caughter viewers at home for a surprise. However, unbeknownst to some, the theater was crawling with Oscar-branded chargers on every floor near the bars in the venue.
Conan O’Brien Gifts Attendees Snack Packs
The Academy Awards began just shy of dinnertime at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET, in alignment with the earlier start time the show implemented last year. However, audiences were not left without snacks, with A-listers and attendees alike being provided with a snack pack with a pretzel, a pack of Swedish fish and a beverage. Aside from the snacks, guests also received a special note from the night’s host Conan O’Brien himself. There, O’Brien joked that he “tried my best to include a gummy” in the gifting, “but Disney said that was a ‘hard pass.’”
The Brutalist Cast and Crew Amp Up the Applause
Heading into Sunday, The Brutalist was one of the most nominated films of the night, with 10 nods, rivaled only by Emilia Pérez with 13 noms and notably tied with Wicked. The Brady Corbet-helmed project picked up three wins — including the honors for best cinematography, best original score and best actor for Adrien Brody — and each time The Brutalist won, the audience members behind the film lit up in the crowd, cheering excitedly with joy for their various nods and subsequent wins.

Timothée Chalamet was up for the coveted title of best actor at the Oscars 2025, and who better to join him for one of the biggest nights of his career other than Kylie Jenner? The Complete Unknown star sat in the front row of the Dolby Theatre sporting a bright yellow suit (see all the star-studded Oscars 2025 red carpet looks), which drew even more attention to his and Jenner’s steady display of affection throughout the night. The A-list couple spent portions of the night packing on the PDA as Chalamet’s film Dune: Part Two picked up two wins, for best sound and best visual effects.
I’m Still Here Supporters Erupt in Celebration After Film Wins Best International Feature
I’m Still Here snatched up the win for best international feature, marking Brazil’s first Oscar in the category. When the film was announced as the winning title, supporters in the crowd at the Dolby Theatre erupted in applause, commemorating the historic achievement. I’m Still Here star Fernanda Torres — who was nominated for her work in the film for best actress — and Sony Classics’ Michael Barker and Tom Bernard could be seen congratulating director Walter Salles before he took the stage, where he honored Eunice Paiva, the woman who inspired the film.
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande Sing Along During Queen Latifah’s Performance
Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and Queen Latifah hit the Dolby Theatre stage to honor Quincy Jones after he died in November at the age of 91. During their tribute, Queen Latifah performed “Ease on Down the Road,” a track from Jones’ The Wiz. As she commanded the audience, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were on their feet, singing along with Queen Latifah as she performed the track akin to the Wicked universe.
Adrien Brody Poses for Pics With His Best Actor Nominees After Winning His Second Oscar
Brody took home his second best actor Oscar for his work in The Brutalist at the 97th Academy Awards. Following his lengthy acceptance speech, in which he asked those in charge of the ceremony to “please turn the music off” while he promised to make his presentation “brief,” he took time to rejoice with his fellow nominees. Brody embraced Chalamet, another top contender for the win, before he pivoted to pose with his fellow nominees.
Anora Gets Added to the Dolby Theatre’s Wall of Winners Minutes After Film Wins Best Picture Oscar
Anora was the biggest winner of the Oscars 2025, scoring a total of five wins on Sunday night, including the coveted categories of best director for Sean Baker, best actress for Mikey Madison and best picture. After the night’s landmark award was announced, the film was notably added to the wall of winners located outside of the Dolby Theatre. There was no question that the film would be added to the iconic wall, though it may have shocked some to see it go up mere minutes after the award was announced.
