The Oscars set to live stream on Hulu for first time

The Oscars are making more history.
The annual ceremony celebrating achievements in the film industry is set to air on ABC and, for the first time, stream live on Hulu. It will also be available to stream on-demand the next day after the March 2 telecast ends.
Last month, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tapped ex-late night mainstay Conan O'Brien to host the 97th Academy Awards next year.
This year's ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, marks O'Brien's first Oscars hosting gig. The comedian previously headlined the Emmys in 2002 and 2006.
Oscar ratings grew in 2024, here's how they've fared through the years
From 2019 to 2021, the Academy experimented with having no one host the Oscars at all, a format that initially came about after Kevin Hart stepped down from the job in 2018 due to backlash to his past homophobic tweets.
Monday's Golden Globes nominations started to put Oscar season in focus, but there is not a clear frontrunner — yet.
Golden Globes 2025 nominations: 'Emilia Pe?rez,' 'The Brutalist' lead movie field
Netflix's crime thriller musical "Emilia Pérez" leads the movie field with 10 total nods going into the 82nd Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 5, the first major awards show of 2025.
Period epic "The Brutalist" received seven nominations including best drama, joining thriller "Conclave," which scored a total of six, while body horror flick "The Substance" nabbed five. "Emilia" and "Substance" are nominated for best comedy or musical alongside tragicomedy "Anora" and Broadway adaptation "Wicked."
Golden Globes nominations typically lead to Oscar nods
Nominations for the Golden Globes are often seen as a precursor to the Oscars, predicting future Academy nods.
Possible contenders for the 2025 Oscars include Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Mikey Madison, Angelina Jolie, Zoe Salda?a, Timothée Chalamet, Nicole Kidman and Denzel Washington.
The best picture race is wide open as buzzy films like "Dune: Part Two" and "Wicked" could compete in the category alongside the likes of "Anora," "Emilia Pérez," "Conclave" and "The Brutalist."
The Oscars will air on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu.
