Parades, fireworks and Summerfest: See how Milwaukee celebrated Fourth of July 2024
Although Milwaukee's July 3 lakefront fireworks were canceled this year, and rain disrupted afternoon festivities, the city still showed out to celebrate the Fourth of July at a variety of community events, parades and even Summerfest.
Folks took to social media to share photos and videos of their Independence Day celebrations. Many posted vibrant shots of the fireworks or red, white and blue lights on city landmarks like the Hoan Bridge.

Others celebrated the holiday at Summerfest. Pop trio AJR with guests Carly Rae Jepsen and Mxmtoon headlined the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Sleeping with Sirens, Mt. Joy and Mariah the Scientist also gave well-attended performances. Many Summerfest attendees were decked out in red, white and blue to celebrate the Fourth at the festival.
