Paris Hilton is in her “mom era” and loving every second of it as she told SheKnows in an exclusive interview timed with the premiere of season two of Paris in Love, her Peacock reality show. “I am loving being in my mom era. It’s my favorite era yet. I just feel like my life feels so complete,” Hilton says during our interview, gushing about Phoenix and London, her son and daughter who she welcomed via surrogates in January and November.

In the season premiere, Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, are prepping for Phoenix’s arrival — which was a total secret that Hilton and Reum kept from their families, friends and staff until after he was born. The season is already very much underway before Hilton reveals her newborn to a very shocked Kathy Hilton who had no idea she had a new grandchild on the way.
However, given that Hilton’s joyful entry to motherhood is told against the backdrop of some very challenging moments on the show, it’s not hard to see why the mogul wanted to keep the precious journey to herself. Hilton has lived her life in front of us since starring in her first reality TV venture, The Simple Life, at 22. She has been parodied, judged, praised and everything in between but she’s also been harboring secrets about a troubled youth buried deep beneath the glitzy, hot pink lifestyle she puts forward for her fans.
In the first episode, Hilton is tearful and visibly uncomfortable while administering one of the many injections she’s required to have each day as she continues the IVF process in the hopes of having a second child — her daughter, London, who she introduced to the world, and her family, on Thanksgiving. She says that the injections invoke traumatic memories of being chased with needles while at Provo Canyon School as a teen, a center for troubled youths in Utah that Hilton was forcibly taken to at 16. Since 2020, Hilton has been bravely advocating for the closure of these types of schools due to allegations of abuse shared by her and other survivors.
In the season, Hilton is also preparing to release her 2023 memoir in which she reveals harrowing claims about being groomed by her teacher, sexually assaulted as a teenager and more. Hilton’s fears about having her darkest moments out in the world is palpable in the show but, in our interview, she seems lighter and free from the weight of the secret.
“I just feel just very proud of the strong woman that I am and everything I’ve been through, and I’ve never been happier or just felt more at peace in my life,” she says. “The season was just incredibly healing for me.” That healing journey involved speaking, for the first time, about her abuse with her mom and sister, Nicky Hilton Rothschild. Rothschild plays the role of the level-headed younger sister to a tee. She’s a grounding force and acts as a mediator between her mom and sister. “I know I come off harsh sometimes with Paris but I think she does have a lot of ‘yes’ people around her and I’m always going to tell her how it is,” Rothschild said when she talked to SheKnows about her sister’s show. “I think my mom and sister have communication issues sometimes and I am happy to be mediator when needed.”
Hilton, on the other hand, is still looking up — or forward, if you will. “It was an emotional season with everything that we went through that I’m just so excited for our beautiful family and life that we are building together,” she says. The “we” is, of course, Hilton and her doting husband Reum who married in 2021 after two years of dating.
In the show, Reum is Hilton’s biggest fan and number one supporter. He’s often a guiding force, leading her through the complicated IVF process, supporting her as she navigates some tense moments with her mom. The couple never raise their voices at one another, they don’t seem to let the challenges of balancing hectic careers and being new parents come between them. Hilton doesn’t use the show to pretend her life is perfect, she’s incredibly honest about the impacts of her trauma, her communication issues with her mom, and the guilt that comes from being a working parent. But if there’s one aspect of her life that Hilton seems to have nailed, it’s her marriage.
“He is my best friend,” she gushes during our chat. “He’s honest, loyal, loving, kind. I’ve never been in a relationship with anyone who has lifted me up and supported me in so many ways. I just feel so blessed to have found him.”
As for parenting together, Hilton and Reum have figured out their rhythm and the multi-hyphenate singer, businesswoman, DJ and more is feeling better than ever about the rest of their life together. “Watching him with Phoenix and London, it’s just makes my heart feel so full for every day. Everything has been perfect. I can’t even imagine finding a better partner.”
