Paris Jackson debunks Joe Jackson's end-of-life message: 'My grandfather did not tweet this'
On Friday, reports surfaced that the Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson, had been hospitalized with terminal cancer. That was followed over the weekend by a poignant message on the 89-year-old’s Twitter feed that suggested that he is himself preparing for the end.
I have seen more sunsets than I have left to see. The sun rises when the time comes and whether you like it or not the sun sets when the time comes. pic.twitter.com/PGcmbulzyC

On Monday morning, however, hours after the post — which featured a photo of Joe gazing at the sun setting over the ocean — its veracity was called into question by his granddaughter Paris Jackson, who is the daughter of Joe’s son Michael.
The 20-year-old noted the sentiment was “beautiful,” but adamantly stated that message did not actually come from her grandfather.
this is a beautiful tweet. though it upsets me to see whoever is in charge of this account taking advantage of it. my grandfather did not tweet this. i’m not sure if he’s ever used this account. https://t.co/KU6jikCD7G

When several of her followers asked how she knew Joe did not write the tweet, Paris answered, “i was with him there’s no possible way for him to have tweeted it.”
Another fan noted, “You should go visit him,” to which Paris replied, “we all have. i flew out this morning to be with him all afternoon and evening.”
Paris added another tweet that seemed to address her grandfather’s health crisis:
blessed to have a family that comes together the way the Jacksons do.

Joe was also on the mind of his youngest daughter, Janet, over the weekend. At the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards, where she was honored with the career-spanning Impact Award (since renamed the Janet Jackson Award), and gave a stirring speech praising her family, including her dad’s influence. “My father — my incredible father — drove me to be the best that I can,” she noted.
