Crocodile Dundee's Paul Hogan, 83, 'falling apart' and wants to go home to Australia
Paul Hogan has confessed he is not well and longs to return home to Australia to be with his family.
The 83-year-old Crocodile Dundee star - who lives in Los Angeles with his 24-year-old son Chance - revealed treatment he had for a kidney condition has stripped his muscle mass and he is too weak to even open a jar.
Hogan told the Australian show A Current Affair: "[I've] been better. I had a problem on the aorta in the kidney and the treatment fixed it, but it shrunk me.
"I've lost all my body fat and the muscles all shrank and the strength hasn't come back, because it left me feeble. I get Chance to open jars for me."
The Australian actor - who has had a pacemaker fitted - described himself as "being held together by string".

Hogan said: "I was still fit [in my 70s]. I'd still take out most 40 year olds. And then I turned 80 and it's lovely that saying that 'turning 80 is not for sissies' because things start to fall apart."
The action star revealed he has been eating a high fat diet, but the steroid medication he takes means he can't gain weight.
He said: "They shrink your muscles and [they're] supposed to make you fat, but I got thinner and thinner and thinner. I'm now in the business of trying to put a bit of fat on… because you feel the cold too much when you've got no body fat."
Hogan - who moved to the US when he married his Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski - wishes he could go home, but does not want to leave son Chance behind in California.
He said: "I'm not in the place I'm meant to be, but I'm not allowed to complain about anything,' he continued.
"I've had such a gifted life. I've had so many wonderful things happen to me without deserving them so I shouldn't complain but, yeah, ideally I'd rather be back in Sydney because I miss the rest of my family there."
Hogan has five children with first wife Noelene Edwards, who he married in 1958. They divorced in 1981, only to remarry and divorce again in 1986.
He married Kozlowski, 64, in 1990. They split in 2013 and their divorce was finalised in 2014. They share a son, Chance.
Hogan recently told The Daily Telegraph he has been "homesick for years".

He said: "I miss the people, the ambience – and there's something you just can't put your finger on, but there's something about Australia that is friendlier and more laid-back.
"It never takes itself seriously – there's no arrogance like there is in other places."
