Paula Abdul Shares Health Update With Fans as She Cancels Entire Tour

Paula Abdul has some unfortunate news for fans planning to see her in Canada this year.

The former American Idol judge has run into a minor health concern that will prevent her from moving forward with her Straight Up! To Canada Tour, plus some dates in Alaska and North Dakota, as she gets ready to undergo a minor surgical procedure.

The musician took to X to share the news "with an incredibly heavy heart," revealing that she's "recently sustained" a series of unspecified injuries. Thus far, "targeted injections" have given her "temporary relief" as she's tried to push forward, but after "multiple consultations...and exploring all available options" with her care team, it became clear that "the demands of an entire tour is a different story."

One of her injuries, she shared, will require a "minor procedure" to resolve, plus six to eight weeks of recovery, which will "prohibit" Abdul from moving forward with her previously scheduled shows.

"I want to extend my deepest apologies to all my amazing fans in Canada and the US, you mean the world to me and this truly breaks my heart," she continued, sharing how much she loves the "energy, love, and connection" she and her fans always share.

"I promise I’ll be back, stronger and better, dancing my heart out and performing for all of you very soon, to give you the show you deserve."

In the meantime, ticketholders can obtain a refund at their point of purchase.

Abdul's news is just another in a long line of recent show cancellations, including from Chappell RoanGwen Stefani, Queens of the Stone Age, TLC and more.
