Peek inside ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’ at Disney World for first time

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Disney’s latest ride, “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” is opening soon at Disney World, but a few preview photos have just been released of the exciting new attraction.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” has ties to New Orleans, since the new attraction is based on the Disney movie “The Princess & The Frog,” which took place in the Big Easy.

For the attraction, Disney has created audio-animatronic figures. The ride will be filled with a whole “swampful” of friendly critters and neighbors joining Tiana on her adventures.

Here in The Big Easy is a restaurant we all know and love, Dooky Chase. Its legendary owner, Leah Chase, who was a champion for civil rights, is who Princess Tiana is based on.

“The surprise is we are going to bring the Chase family to Disney World to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for the first time,” said one of the creators of the attraction, Ted Robledo.

Of course, there will also be wonderful New Orleans music featured on the attraction with sounds of jazz and zydeco music.

Disney collaborated with music legends PJ Morton and Terrence Blanchard for new, original music for the ride, alongside some of the famous tunes from “The Princess & The Frog.”

Disney spokespeople say the ride will feature a 50-foot drop that ends with a cool wave of water. The ride will also feature special “smellitzers” that smell like beignets.

“Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” opens on June 28.

WGNO’s Kenny Lopez and photographer Justin Abshire will be heading to Disney World to preview the new ride on air and online in early-June.
