Penelope Cruz Chooses All White Chanel Pleated Dress and Cap-Toe Shoes at the Oscars 2025
Penelope Cruz chose cleansing white for her 2025 Oscars look. The actor attended the big night at the Academy Awards on Sunday.
For it, she wore a white sleeveless Chanel couture dress. The strapless design featured a pleated bodice. In addition to pleats, the bodice is decorated with crystal-studded buttons. There was also a chiffon detail coming from the neckline as well as a maxi skirt.

For shoes, Cruz wore a pair of Chanel cap-toe styles. The cap-toe is one of Chanel’s signature. They were initially intended to lengthen the leg while making the foot appear smaller. Cruz’s feature a black grosgrain cap-toe.
It appears that the shoe was Chanel’s pointed-toe slingback. Outside of the toe, the rest of the shoe is made of smooth goatskin leather. It is a slingback featuring a buckle. The classic Chanel slingback featured an elasticized strap.
Many Chanel ambassadors favor wearing cap-toe slingback styles. The details may differ but it is a staple at the brand. Margaret Qualley wore a flat version to the Golden Globes. It featured a small, almost nonexistent heel of less than two inches. Then there’s the block heel edition: Lily-Rose Depp has worn it on multiple occasions, namely in black-on-black to a taping of “Good Morning America.” Cruz’s shoe appears to be set on a stiletto heel of just under four inches.
The Oscars 2025, officially known as the 97th Academy Awards, are set to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The ceremony will honor movies released in 2024. Conan O’Brian will host the event that will celebrate films like “Wicked,” “The Substance,” “The Brutalist, “A Complete Unknown,” “Emilia Perez” and more. Notable nominees for acting categories include Zoe Salda?a, Ariana Grande, Demi Moore, Colman Domingo and more.
