People Are Saying "One Of Them Days" Is The Movie We All Needed, And Based On How 2025 Is Starting, I Completely Agree
Fans can't get enough of One of Them Days as it continues to top the box office and their hearts.
The new female buddy-comedy starring Keke Palmer (Dreux) and SZA (Alyssa) is about best friends-turned-roommates who are forced to quickly come up with a large amount of money after Alyssa's boyfriend Keshawn (Joshua Neal) blows their rent money on an entrepreneurial endeavor. It's either that or get evicted.
The film also features hilarious moments with Janelle James, Katt Williams, Maude Apatow, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Dewayne Perkins, Amin Joseph, Aziza Scott, Gabrielle Dennis, DomiNque Perry, Lil Rel Howery, and Patrick Cage.
The film was written by Syreeta Singleton, directed by Lawrence Lamont, and produced by everyone's favorite awkward Black girl, Issa Rae. So, even before I watched the movie, I knew we were in good hands.

The trio has worked together in the past, with Lawrence directing several episodes of Issa's Rap Sh!t, while Syreeta wrote numerous episodes for Rap Sh!t and Insecure.
And it did not disappoint! I was cracking up from beginning to end. From the storyline and ridiculous predicaments the ladies find themselves in to the memorable one-liners and perfect casting, One of Them Days is an ode to Los Angeles with laughter as its backdrop.
One truly undeniable thing is the chemistry between Keke and SZA, who made her feature film debut. The way they were able to play off of each other made the jokes land a little harder and the movie even more enjoyable.
The film explores the complexities of friendships and knowing your worth, which seems to have really resonated with viewers, landing the film at no. 1 at the box office over MLK Jr. weekend — neck and neck with Mufasa. It also earned a 96% Rotten Tomatoes rating, with a 92% on the popcorn meter.
This world is in need of more feel-good films, and this one arrived right on time.
