The Perfect Couple Trailer: Nicole Kidman Hosts a Deadly Wedding Weekend and Everyone’s a Suspect
There are plenty of things that could ruin a beautiful Nantucket wedding weekend. A dead body washing up on the shore? That probably tops the list.
Based on the book by Elin Hilderbrand, the six-episode Netflix limited series The Perfect Couple (which releases Thursday, Sept. 5) follows Amelia Sacks (Bad Sisters’ Eve Hewson), a woman who’s about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. “Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman), has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach,” reads the official description. “As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect.”

In the trailer embedded above, Amelia gets her first taste of the family’s sinister nature, as a fellow in-law warms her to “stay on the periphery, where it’s safe.” We also see her questioning an NDA, as someone describes her family-to-be as “kill-someone-and-get-away-with-it rich.”
A second trailer, released Tuesday, offers a closer look at some of our prime suspects:
In addition to Kidman and Hewson, the six-episode limited series also stars Dakota Fanning (The First Lady), Billy Howle (Chloe), Jack Reynor (The Peripheral), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), Michael Beach (Truth Be Told), Donna Lynne Champlin (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan) and Isabelle Adjani (Possession).
Susanne Bier (The Undoing) directs and executive-produces. Additional EPs include Kidman, Shawn Levy and Gail Berman.
