Peter Weber begs 'Bachelor' frontrunner to 'not walk away' following sex confession
On The Bachelor Monday night, Peter Weber continued to turn fans of the show against him, when he slept with both Hannah Ann Sluss and Victoria Fuller during fantasy suites week, after fan-favorite Madison Prewett, who revealed she's a virgin and saving herself for marriage, told Peter that she would not be able to move forward with him if he did.
Madison explained to Peter that the last thing she wanted to do was put him in an uncomfortable position or give him an ultimatum, and that her request to him wasn't telling him he can't be intimate with Hannah and Victoria, but to know that should he make that decision, she would have to walk away because of her personal beliefs.
"For me, growing up, I made a commitment to myself, and I decided that I wanted to save myself for marriage," Madison told Peter. "I see it as the day that I say, 'I do' to the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with is the day that he's getting all of me, like, body, soul, and spirit. I'm his. And I look at relationships, and not both people are gonna, like, have made the same life decisions, and I don't expect that for you or for anybody. But I do expect, at this point, for us to be honest about the expectations that we do have, and, you know, that's what I'm trying to do."
Peter ensured Madison that he respects her for making that commitment to herself. However, Madison clarified that if he had slept with the other women, she wouldn't be able to say yes to an engagement. "I'm not in any way trying to, like, come across as, like, judgmental or, like, hold something over your head," said Madison. "But at the same time, like, those are just — those are my expectations that I have in life."
"I just can't, like, wrap my mind around, in a week from now, if you're down on one knee and, six days before that, you slept with somebody else," said Madison, who also explained that she's had to "look past a lot of things" since her time on the show. Madison said that she, understandably, hasn't felt comfortable seeing Peter kissing other women, but that she's had to sacrifice and compromise on a lot because Peter is worth it. However, the one thing she's unwilling to compromise on is getting engaged to a man who slept with other women less than a week before.
While it's definitely a debatable topic, Bachelor Nation had no sympathy for Peter, who, after confessing to Madison that he had been intimate with the other two women, begged her to "get past" it and not walk away from him and the show because he "can't lose" her.
Regardless of how you feel about her ultimatum:
He's clearly in love with her.
She told him before that it was a dealbreaker for her.
He thought she'd get over it and forgive him.
She didn't.
Good for her.#TheBachelor— Boston Gal (@boscitygal) February 25, 2020
Hot take:
There was no ultimatum given. Before fantasy sweets Madi told him how him sleeping w/ the other girls would make her feel. Peter still chose to sleep w/ the other women. He chose to do that and made a decision, he should choose another girl & let Madi go. #TheBachelor pic.twitter.com/nwM6eRAVmB— ms. millicent 🥺 (@modernmillicent) February 25, 2020

If peter didn’t want to lose madi that bad and was so sure about her, then there was no reason for him to sleep with other girls; not if he was planning to be down on one knee for madi in a week. Madi, you deserve better sis. Don’t take him back. #thebachelor

Madison standing up for her beliefs, while not putting Peter or the other girls down, is what this show needs more of...again, it’s not much to ask a guy to not sleep with someone else 6 days before he might propose to you #TheBachelor

Just a quick reminder that it’s okay for women to stand up for what they believe in. This is our queen. We Stan. #thebachelor pic.twitter.com/Uv0Xmkg8Jm

How do you mess around & lose a good potential wife just so you can have temporary pleasure?! #TheBachelor pic.twitter.com/RmKWqfKOgR

CAN I JUST SAY Madi’s thoughts are completely valid, saving herself or not, for not wanting to get engaged to someone who slept with someone else 6 days before their engagement #TheBachelor

I’m honestly proud of Madi for staying true to herself and I’m also proud of the Twitter world for recognizing that her beliefs are valid #TheBachelor

Even Bachelor alum Nick Viall tweeted:
Whether you agree with Maddi or not, she articulated her beliefs with grace while trapped in her nightmare. Maddi has character. Real People.. real feelings. #TheBachelor

In the end, Madison walked away from Peter, obviously forgoing her fantasy suite and, unfortunately, we have to wait until next week's episode to find out if she walked away for good.
The Bachelor airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on ABC.
