Pharrell Pushes Something In The Water Festival To April 2025

Pharrell canceled 2024’s Something in the Water Festival and is looking to bring it back in 2025. On Friday (Sept. 13), Pharrell Williams took to X/Twitter with his announcement, explaining the reason for his decision. The fashion mogul shot down the idea that the festival was about him and insisted that the event was more of a celebration of his home state, Virginia. Pharrell stated that the event would return in April 2025 and vowed to make it “epic.”

“Virginia doesn’t deserve better, Virginia deserves THE BEST,” he typed. “So SOMETHING IN THE WATER has to match that. It just isn’t ready yet. That’s why we as a team have decided we must postpone this year’s SOMETHING IN THE WATER festival that was due to take place in October.”

“Virginia made me, and I want to honor it with as much love as it’s shown me my entire life. And you know me, everywhere I go it’s VA,” he added.

“I am so grateful to our amazing sponsors and the city for their continued support and trust in us to get this right, and that time is April 2025. This has to be EPIC, and trust me, after this long wait, it will be. Thank you for your support, love and understanding.”

Additionally, P stated that fans who have purchased festival passes will be given a full refund. Those same fans will be given first dibs on tickets for the 2025 event once they go on sale. Williams released the statement just six hours after SITW released an exclusive tier of ticket sales available to Virginia residents.

Something in the Water 2023 went down between April 28-30 of that year. The festival included various musical performers, including Ayra Starr, Babyface Ray, The Clipse, FLO, BADBADNOTGOOD, and more.
