Philly native Pink Sweat$ performing at The NorVa Nov. 29 with KIRBY and Bren Joy

On Mondays, we wear pink, or at least some people will on Nov. 29 when Philly native Pink Sweat$ performs at The NorVa.

The stop is part of his Pink Moon tour and will include performances from R&B and soul singers KIRBY and Bren Joy.

Pink Sweat$ — born David Bowden — got his stage name from the clothes he’d wear in the studio while producing music for other artists, the Philly Voice reported.

He worked behind the scenes as a songwriter for seven years before becoming a solo artist in July 2018.

His debut EP “Volume 1″ has earned him praise in Rolling Stone, which described his music as “acoustic soul with a touch of alt-90s angst.”

He released his debut album,” Pink Planet,” in February. His list of collaborations includes his “Honesty” single featuring raw, eclectic songstress Jessie Reyez and “At My Worst” with Kehlani.

The latter has a 1950s feel and the video follows suit — Pink Sweat$ and Kehlani each drive a classic car full of flowers, meeting at a gas station and wondering if they should make a move.

“I need somebody who can love me at my worst. No, I’m not perfect, but I hope you see my worth. ’Cause it’s only you. Nobody new. I put you first. And for you, girl, I swear I’ll do the worst.”

KIRBY’s work is also reminiscent of 1960s love songs, especially her 2016 track “Loved By You.”

A guitarist plays a slow, somber tune as KIRBY sings about her fears, trying not to let her jealousy and thoughts ruin a potentially beautiful relationship.
