Photos of ‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton's Injury Prior to Arrest at Zoo Revealed
Before Amy Slaton was arrested at a zoo in Tennessee on Monday, a camel allegedly bit the 1000-Lb Sisters star and now, two days later, photos of the injury have been made public.
Images obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, Sept. 4, depict what looks to be a deeply painful gash on Slaton's right arm. While the outlet describes the bite as a "flesh wound," the photos appear to show a clean slice across four centimeters of her forearm.
The incident left her with more than just a split in the skin above her inner elbow, but exposed tissue, an area of missing skin and controversy over what caused it as the owner of the zoo claims the nature of the laceration proves a camel couldn't have caused it.
Check out the photos. Warning: they're graphic.
As Parade previously reported, the TLC reality personality was arrested on Sept. 2 at the Safari Park in Alamo after deputies were requested to respond to an incident where a guest was allegedly bitten by a camel. Upon arrival, "deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors" they claim were coming from the vehicle the 36-year-old and her passenger, Brian Scott Lovvorn, were in.
At the time the news broke, law enforcement hadn't provided any details other than that Slaton was arrested for an "illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment."
But in the days since, the publication was tipped off and has since reported that cops say they "found psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana in her car" along with two kids.
While the zoo's owner maintains a camel did not cause Slaton's injury due to the apparent lack of bruising and clean slice, according to the local county sheriff's office who spoke with TMZ, another zoo employee called authorities to report the incident as a camel bite.
Slaton left the location on a stretcher to be treated at a hospital before she was booked on the charges, per ABC.
