  • Swan Lake: The Brevard Ballet Youth Company presents “Swan Lake” at the King Center on Saturday, May 4 at 6 p.m. Over 150 locally trained dancers will grace the stage to tell the triumphant story featuring a moonlit lake, swan maidens and true love. Tickets start at $44.

  • Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show: Actress and comedian Vicki Lawrence brings her character Thelma Harper/Mama to the King Center on Sunday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Lawrence is known for her roles on “The Carol Burnett Show,” “Mama’s Family” and “The Cool Kids.” Tickets start at $30.

Readers’ Theater “From the Script to the Stand” will be at Surfside Playhouse, 301 Ramp Road, Cocoa Beach, on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. The event will feature an assortment of one act original works written by local playwrights and performed by Brevard actors Angela Young, Justin Rupp, MC Barnette, Edward Johnson, Ant Ferrara, Sarah Lawrence, Wendy Reinking Patterson, Jim Patterson, Jack Maloney and Liz Keimer, and directed/moderated by Nancy Matican-Bock. The Platinum Coast Orchid Society hosts its annual show and sale “Welcome to the Orchid Jungle'' at the Kiwanis Island Park gymnasium, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, Merritt Island, on Friday through Sunday, May 3 through 6, starting at 9 a.m. each day. 4. Great Gatsby Casino Night in Cocoa Village

The Cocoa Elks Lodge #1532, 315 Florida Ave., Cocoa Village, will glitter like a 1920s Gatsby wonderland on Saturday, May 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be blackjack, roulette, Texas hold ‘em, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a cash bar and more. 5. Celebrate the Kentucky Derby in Melbourne and Cocoa Village

  • Kentucky Derby party in Melbourne: The Italian American Club, 1471 Cypress Ave., Melbourne, will host a 1924-themed Kentucky Derby dinner on Saturday, May 4 at 5 p.m. Dress in your 1920s best, including hats. Past races from 1924 to 1974 will be shown and a photo booth will be available. Dinner includes a buffet of pulled pork, bourbon chicken, mac & cheese, pecan pie, Kentucky mud pie and more, and mint juleps will be the featured cocktail.
