Polly Pocket’s Compact Home Gets the Life-size Treatment With New Airbnb Experience in Massachusetts Celebrating the Doll’s 35th Anniversary
Polly Pocket’s tiny house just got a lot bigger thanks to Airbnb. The vacation rental company has revealed its latest themed experience in celebration of the pint-sized doll’s 35th anniversary.
Located in Littleton, Mass. — less than an hour outside of Boston — the property’s design takes inspiration from Polly Pocket’s original play sets. This particular Airbnb is based on the Slumber Party Fun compact, which debuted in the 1990s.

The 42-foot-tall home features two stories filled with colorful plastic furniture, and naturally, some of Polly Pocket’s iconic rubber clothing. Guests are invited to get ready at Polly’s vanity, which is stuffed with nostalgic hair and nail accessories.
A retro fridge is stocked with ’90s kid staples, while a picnic table includes all of the materials needed to craft a Polly-approved friendship bracelet.
The life-sized compact sleeps four guests, who can choose between Polly’s pull-out couch or the cozy Action Park Tent (also based on an actual vintage playset), located just steps away.
Priced at $89 a person, there are three one-night stays available to book at airbnb.com/pollypocket starting Aug. 21 at 6:00 a.m. PT through August 28 at 11:59 p.m. PT. For those who aren’t able to book a one-night stay, 21 daytime excursions for up to 12 guests will also be available from Sept. 16 to Oct. 6 (the same booking window applies). Find more information at airbnb.com/pollypocketplaydate. In both cases, guests are responsible for their own travel to and from Littleton.
Polly Pocket’s Compact is just the latest in Airbnb’s Icons category, which offers experiences based on beloved pop culture franchises across film, television, sports and more. Other themed stays have included Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse, a floating home inspired by “Up” and an X-Men mansion.
Polly Pocket was designed by Chris Wiggs in 1983. He created the tiny plaything for his daughter, fashioning a dollhouse out of a makeup compact. This became the basis for the original Polly Pocket toys, which included heart-shaped plastic cases that opened up into play sets. After they hit shelves in 1989, Mattel purchased the property in 1998, redesigning Polly Pocket and making her slightly larger.
