Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD Hindi OTT Rights Sold, Claim Report

Prabhas‘ upcoming sci-fi dystopian film Kalki 2898 AD has been witnessing a massive buzz for a while now. The movie is among the most awaited star-studded films of the year. It has been in production for years and now its release date is inching closer. Amid the movie’s postponement rumors, reports of its digital rights being sold are coming out. Finally, alleged details about the movie’s Hindi version’s OTT deal are out.

Kalki 2898 AD will see several celebrated actors playing crucial roles. Apart from Prabhas, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Tamil star Kamal Haasan have been roped in for key roles. On the other hand, while Deepika Padukone is the leading lady, Disha Patani has a supporting role.

The Nag Ashwin directorial will also allegedly have several cameos. Among the many names that have come up for cameos, two of them are Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda.

Is Kalki 2898 AD to arrive on Netflix in Hindi?

It was earlier reported that Amazon Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights of Kalki 2898 AD for its Southern languages. The deal was allegedly finalized for a whopping $18 million. As per 123telugu.com, the digital rights for the movie’s Hindi version have also been locked.

The report revealed that several OTT giants tried to bag the movie’s digital rights, but Netflix succeeded in sealing the deal. Netflix allegedly bagged the deal for $21 million. If the reports are to be believed, the movie has already begun making money.

So far, many details about the Kalki 2898 AD plot have not been revealed. However, director Nag Ashwin did tease some specifications about the movie. He revealed that the VFX work in the movie will be massive. Moreover, the movie has a unique plot that has never been witnessed in Indian cinema.

The movie will hit the theaters on May 9, 2024.
