‘Preacher’ Cast Talks Dirty Name-Calling
Preacher made waves in the ‘90s comic scene not just for its brilliance and darkness, but also its profanity. Published by DC, it scandalized some parents to find their kids reading funnybooks peppered with f-bombs and character names like “Arseface.” The AMC adaptation of the series draws the line at the f-word, but much of the rest of the racy language remains intact. So we asked the cast what’s the worst thing they’ve ever called someone or someone’s ever called them.

Poor Ian Colletti, who plays the character Arseface — a guy whose failed suicide attempt has left him with a face that, well, looks like an arse — appears to bear the brunt of the abuse, but isn’t necessarily one to dish it back out. Dominic Cooper, the titular preacher, Jesse Custer, has said some unkind things to people, though he’s unwilling to admit to specifics on camera.
Joseph Gilgun, who plays the rowdy vampire, Cassidy, makes up for both of them, though. He launches into a filth-laden tirade about playing Call of Duty with seven year olds. Although, it sounds like the kids are just as foul-mouthed. Maybe their parents read Preacher back in the ‘90s?
Preacher premieres Sunday, May 22 at 10 p.m. on AMC.
