President Obama Slow-Jams the News on ‘Tonight Show’
President Obama stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to “slow-jam the news.” While this was the president’s first time on The Tonight Show under Fallon, he did slow-jam the news on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon back in 2012.
During the bit, Obama listed many of the accomplishments he is proud his administration has achieved, like job growth. “We’ve added more than 14 million new jobs and lowered the unemployment rate to under 5 percent,” said the president.
His statements were backed up by Fallon and Roots band member Tariq Trotter’s singing. Trotter followed up the job growth stats with, “He created tons of jobs for you and me, and he’s got one more left for Hillary.”
Between the job growth, health care reform, environmental measures, and equal rights movement, a lot has happened in the past seven-plus years. The president said, “In short, climate change is real, health care is affordable, and love is love.”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
