Prince Louis is a whole vibe at granddad King Charles III’s first Trooping the Colour
Oh, for the freedom to be as unfiltered as Prince Louis in any situation.
The 5-year-old royal, Prince William and Princess Kate’s youngest child, was up to his usual scene-stealing antics Saturday at Trooping the Colour. He adorably held his nose as his carriage rode behind smelly horses! He fist-pumped from the balcony at Buckingham Palace! He saluted the Royal Air Force!
The annual summer parade celebrates the birth of the British monarch, and this year’s edition was a first for Louis’ granddad King Charles III, who in actuality turns 75 on Nov. 14. Charles, as colonel in chief, took part in the festivities on horseback, as did his eldest son, Prince William, and Charles’ siblings Princess Anne and Prince Edward. This year's occasion included 1,400 parading soldiers and 200 horses, and marked the first time in 30 years that the monarch participated on horseback.
Among the amazing photos of Louis from the big day:
Prince Louis clutches his nose as he rides in a horse-drawn carriage with his older siblings, Prince George, 9, left, who wrinkles his own sniffer in solidarity, and Princess Charlotte, 8.
A triumphant Louis hits the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force fly-by, with arms outstretched and his face scrunched in a roar of approval.
And because we can't get enough of that face, the close-up. He matched big bro George in a navy double-breasted blazer with gold buttons and a red tie.
Uh-oh. Is Louis in trouble with his dad for enjoying the festivities a little too much?
Louis got it together to give a proper salute to the Royal Air Force. Never change, Louis.
The young prince, fourth in line to the throne, has a long and enjoyable history of brightening up royal appearances, from sticking his pinkies in his mouth at last year's parade to thumbing his nose at his mom at Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
