Prince Royce Talks Touring with Ariana Grande & the Growing ‘Spanglish’ Music Scene at iHeartRadio Music Fest
Prince Royce is coming off a year of firsts. The Latin pop star is enjoying the afterglow of his first English-language album release Double Vision, which came on the heels of three No. 1 Latin albums (Double Vision peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 in August).
The crossover artist is currently taking his music to arenas up and down the country with Ariana Grande on her Honeymoon Tour, a trek which is helping push his profile firmly into the mainstream. The “feedback has been great,” he says of his time on the road.

The singer, who was born Geoffrey Royce Rojas in the Bronx, N.Y., took time out of his busy schedule to chat with Billboard in a moment of downtime at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, where he performed for the first time.
“The past year has definitely been very busy. How do I keep it balanced? I’m not sure. It’s very unbalanced actually, to be real,” he says with a laugh. “I haven’t been home in two or three months.” He spent a day at home and discovered the tires of his cars were flat. “Everything’s like deserted…,” he quips.

The performer also shared his thoughts on the growing Latin — or “Spanglish,” as he describes it — music culture. There are “more and more people like me who speak both languages. A lot is changing,” he said, before name-checking Enrique Iglesias, Shakira and Ricky Martin as artists “who opened doors for me to be able to do what I’m trying to do now.”
