Prince William Revisits Prior Career Path in New Photos

Prince William took a walk down memory lane as he paid a visit to his previous workplace, Royal Air Force Valley in Anglesey, Wales.

Last summer, William became Royal Honorary Commodore of the Royal Air Force station after taking over the role from King Charles III.

Most recently, the 42-year-old posted about the visit on the official Instagram page, writing alongside photos from the trip, "Always nice to be back at @royalairforceuk Valley, and this time as Honorary Air Commodore! Spending time catching up with the teams stationed here, hearing about life today at Valley and the crucial role they play on Anglesey."

William worked as a helicopter search and rescue pilot at the base for three years between 2010 and 2013, with Princess Kate living with him in Anglesey at the time. William and Kate got married in 2011 and welcomed their first child, Prince George, in July 2013, with William leaving his position soon after.

According to the BBC, the visit consisted of a tour of the area and introductions with various people working there. William also met up with his former flying instructor Captain Brian Wills and participated in a simulation exercise with the crew at the fire and rescue station.

Arriving amid rainy weather, William reportedly said, "It wouldn’t feel like home if I wasn’t back here on a day like this," later noting, "It's a bit of nostalgia for me."

During the visit, Captain Wills reportedly commented on his history training William, saying, "I get asked a lot how was it training him and what extra privileges did he have, but I treated him like anybody else. He did everything exactly as anybody else would have done."

Rita Millan, who has worked at the base for many years, told the publication that she spoke with William and said to “send [Kate] our love," adding of the prince, "He said he loved coming back to visit us."
